I'm a lifetime learning enthusiast who loves to share! My focus is on compassionate instruction; I work to build up students study skills while mastering the material in a constructive, supporting environment.

My formal education consists of a BS in Mathematics and a BA in Economics. I have supplemented these informally by reading widely in Philosophy, History, Political Science, Biology, and Physics. I have a great passion for the history of ideas, which allows me to convey a subject's pla...

Brian is a kind and positive tutor. Our family highly recommends him, especially by the guys being tutored. He is knowledgeable and teaches with various points of views so the pupil understands the material.

Brian continues this year to tutor our 10th grade daughter with Geometry. Again, we are thankful for his patience and wisdom in helping out with a teenager that struggles with math. Brian communicates well and his lesson notes are top notch. We have recommended him to other families, too.

Brian's strength is that he can explain things in multiple ways in order to optimize your understanding of key concepts. He adapts to the type of learner you are, which is great!

So far my son has had two sessions with Brian and loves working with him. Brian was able to immediately pick up on my son?s strengths and weaknesses in order to fine tune his lesson plan for him. This is the most my son has been engaged in math homework and we are already seeing a difference in his ability to accomplish it with less frustration.

He is very helpful with the math concepts that my daughter was confused with. He explained the details and gave demonstrations. He even taught her some extra algebra tricks.

I worked on precalc trigonometic functions and how to graph them with Brian. Going in I had no idea how to do it and but after the session I was super confident! He made great real life connections to the work, made the problems easy to understand, and was very patient! Would definitely recommend

Brian has been working with my daughter for about 8 months now. He is patient, kind and knows all there is to know about math subjects. Her grade at the end of last semester improved dramatically! I would highly recommend him.

Brian's approach to mathematics is personal and passionate. He provides the background of the mathematical topic to be learned and the process to obtain an understanding of the topics purpose and explains the process in more than one way to understand the problems to solve them.

My daughter needed to build up her confidence after not doing any math for a while due to illness. After a few tutoring sessions, she felt ready to tackle her math course. Brian was knowledgeable, patient, and professional. My daughter was very comfortable working with Brian. I highly recommend Brian.

Brian helped us out with some pre-finals 12th grade calculus tutoring. Brian was very personable and relatable. We were very happy with the session and wouldn't hesitate to use Brian again for tutoring needs. Thanks!

I am so happy to have found Brian. I was diagnosed with mono and missed quite a few classes and was falling behind. Brian is so patient and smart and such a good teacher. I am getting back on track with his help! I truly couldn't do it without him! He is a lifesaver!!
- Eliica H. from San Francisco, CA
My HS junior enjoyed Brian's applied math explanations, not simply doing exercises. We're looking forward to our weekly lessons with him.

Brian and I have met a few times now and I can honestly say I feel like a more educated person after my sessions with him. He teaches in a way that is somehow easier to understand, and also will teach you about other subjects as well as the one you are focusing on.

I contacted Brian for assistant with my economics classwork. He responded promptly and was flexible in meeting places and times. He was able to execute on the work that I needed to help with, no problem and taught in a manner that made sense! He is absolutely the best tutor I've ever had and would HIGHLY recommend giving him a try. Thanks so much Brian!!!

I met with Brian twice a week for 5 weeks in order to prep for an exam, and he was extremely accommodating and helpful. Every time before we met, he would go over a few practice problems and walk me through them. Afterwards, I would get to keep his notes as a reference. He was also able to modify his teaching to my learning style, which was extremely helpful. If you're in need of a good math or Econ tutor, you will not be disappointed with Brian.
- Sonya R. from San Francisco, CA
Brian is tutoring my son. He is patient and knowledgeable in the different ways an individual may learn. It is obvious that he is a student of how the brain works and is most concerned about how best my son can gain the knowledge he needs to succeed. So much better than the 5 stars allowed.
- Gregory P. from San Francisco, CA
He's very patient and makes boring math, fun. His knowledge and way of explaining things, make it easy to retain information and fun mathematical facts. Great tutor overall. He does not disappoint!
- Isabelle V. from Daly City, CA
Brian has been a sanity saver since I started working with him. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are understanding the material. On a side note, he is punctual and pleasant.
