I?ve just started my tutoring sessions with Paige and have gained so much knowledge and confidence thanks to her commitment to my success. Her enthusiasm for the subject is contagious. Since childhood, math has never been a strong subject for me. Now, going back to college and taking a math class after so many years, I was even more discouraged. Paige understood my fears and helps me work through them as we go though my worksheets. I was anxious about a major exam and Paige reviewed the 3 chapters with me the day before. I was so happy to score a high B on that exam. I never thought I?d say math could be fun but I look forward to every lesson with her. Thank you Paige!

Paige has been working with my 15 year old and she is great at explaining the concepts. She has been able to generate interest in math and is also very patient. She tries to figure out which methods work with the students and takes up appropriate techniques (since different people learn differently). We're very happy with the lessons. Also, she ends up spending a little more time with the student rather than timing it dot to-the-hour ('cause time's up!) - most of the time she works extra with the student. We are currently working with her on a weekly basis and she gives homework for the student to work during the week (so the student can go over the concepts again and get some practice). Overall it's working pretty well. We would highly recommend her.

Paige helped me prepare for my finite exam at Georgia Tech and was so helpful! She explained all the concepts so that they were easily understood and was very patient! Even though it was an online tutoring session, Paige would often look at my expressions and make sure I looked liked I was understanding things and if I looked confused would go over the problem again!

Paige has a great sense of humor, and great, detailed explanations. She always has good chemistry with both student and parents. Everybody feels saved with her tutoring.

Paige has slowed down my anxiety and nervousness, now I can focus on the learning and not the falling or failing part, I have a new outlook on math and I love Math, the beauty of the mathematical "world of numbers and stuff" (to quote Paige), all the best.

Paige is working really well with our son. He reports that she is good at explaining the geometry concepts, helps him organize his study tools and also holds him accountable for his work between sessions. She is caring and enthusiastic about the subject and comes across as genuinely caring about my sons learning, not just about passing tests.

Paige was on time and ready to tutor me with math subjects. Paige helped me get a better understanding of Set Operations and Venn Diagrams. Paige took her time to carefully explain each step and she even created examples to help me get the material. I would recommend Paige and I plan on using her in the future!

Paige is an awesome tutor and she saved my grade in my intense summer statistics class. In the class I was completely confused about the material. I was very comfortable with Paige with all of our sessions. We had two lessons every week so I could keep up with the class and so understand the homework. She is very flexible with my ADHD and she explained the material I didn?t understand and throughly explained it to me in a way I could understand. Without her I would have not passed this class. Thanks Paige!!!

We are happy to have found Paige. She gives my son good tips to follow in order to score well. I like that she gives him milestones to achieve each lesson which makes it easily measurable.

We hired Paige to help my daughter (10th grade) with Pre-Calculus. What a great find!! She quickly established a nice rapport with my daughter. She enjoys her tutoring lessons and is learning more from Paige than her math teacher. She has progressed very well. Paige shows her different ways a problem can be solved and encourages my daughter to work on her own. Paige is extremely reliable, very patient, communicates promptly, and is on time for every session!! We would give her our highest recommendation for anyone looking for a great tutor!

Another great session with Paige. She takes the time to explain how things work. We will continue to call her to help our son with math concepts.

I started working with Paige during October 2011, when I was encountering difficulty with my Finite Math course at San Jose State. The first math class I took in a long time. I was unorganized and not very confident in my skills to pass the course. With her help I was able to fix the mistakes I made on the two previous exams which I failed but ended up getting a "B" on the final, and passed the course with ease. I noticed my skills were improving in addition to my confidence in approaching the problems. Shortly after, I approached Paige about helping my in my Business 170 Course-Introduction to Finance. This was the start to my Finance concentration courses. The class was only two weeks with two exams so I wanted some additional help and Paige was ready to help. We were able to keep on track with the material by giving ourselves a goal everyday of what we needed to cover so we would not be behind but ahead of the class. Being prepared and staying ahead in class makes the class lectures a lot easier to understand. I ended up doing really well on the final and I passed the course. The next course she helped me with was my upper division Statistics course- Business 190. My statistics knowledge was rusty after 4 years since my last statistic course, but Paige was there to help. I was able to learn and remember my statistic skills again through Paige who is very knowledgeable with the course. She gave me a secondary lesson after my lecture and it would all come together when she explained it to me in comparison to my Professor. I passed the class with ease having Paige help me in the process. She filled in the gaps I was unsure about and we were able to succeed. The last course Paige helped me with was my last course I had to take in my Finance concentration and that was Business 173A- Intermediate Financial Management. I failed this class the previous semester and needed to get through this course to get my Finance degree. Paige has never taught this material but we both decided to learn together and that produced a great tutoring environment of discussion and research into what I did wrong previously to not pass the course. As the class got to the end, the problems and concepts of the course seemed second nature and I got a "B" in easily the hardest business class at San Jose State. Paige is hardworking, nice, patient, persevere with students and she actually cares unlike many other tutors on this website. Her skills are helpful to anyone who is having trouble with any course that is dealing with numbers. Paige has taught me on and off for almost three years, and I owe so much to her because without her I would not have the passed these courses.

My child is taking a course in Trigonometry at a college level at a community college. She is of high school age and is in an accelerated program. Thus, we hired Paige in order to supplement my child's learning pace in order to keep up with the challenging course. My daughter kept coming back to me week after week, explaining that Paige preferred to speak of concerts she wished to attend over the weekend, and other off-topic conversations, instead of focusing on my daughter's learning material. Week after week, my child only completed 4 to 9 homework problems with Paige, instead of actually completing and finishing assignments due in 2 days or at the end of the week. For $55 an hour, this was simply unacceptable. Paige was also very unkind to my daughter, becoming very impatient with her and even going as far as to call her petulant and rude, as stated in a review online through WyzAnt and over the phone. Both my daughter and I are completely unsatisfied with Paige's performance as a tutor; a tutor should have helped my child, but instead, completely wasted two months of her time. Thank you Paige, we will not be requiring your services again.

Paige is a great option for any student at any level. Whether you're in high school or in college, she will definitely provide assistance in the material you are covering. I strongly recommend her for anyone who is struggling or anyone who would like to get a leg up on the material they are working on.
- Jim P. from Union City, CA
Paige was very patient with me, she taught me effective strategies to remembering the steps and processes in solving problems which I had trouble with. She is very well spoken and easy to follow. I used her while taking Intermediate College Algebra, however I believe she could tutor any student in any Math class, she's just that good! She knows her stuff and then some! Would definitely hire her again if needed.

My husband and I are very pleased with the progress Paige has made with our son. Even though our son has shown little interest in the subject and is reluctant to having a tutor, Paige has kept her commitment and enthusiasm to tutoring him. We appreciate her candidness in her reviews of the lesson/tutoring sessions as this helps us to immediately address any issues our son may be experiencing with the subject. Paige?s knowledge and expertise in math is apparent in her teaching which has helped my son to be more confident and successful not only in completing assignments but also in test taking. We thank Paige for her patience and dedication to helping our son with his success in math, as he has improved his grade significantly this year.

As the parent of a high school junior who was struggling with his second semester pre-calculus curriculum, I hired Paige through WyzAnt Tutoring Services. She was recommended to us by a friend, and I was impressed with her background and experience. My son?s performance in pre-calculus had dropped to a C average during his second semester and I was looking for some additional support to help him gain a more solid understanding of the concepts as well as to raise his grade. In a very short time, Paige was able to accomplish both of these goals. In eight tutoring sessions which spanned a total of six weeks, she worked diligently with him to boost his grade nine percentage points, ultimately earning him a B in the course. Thanks to Paige?s instruction, he earned a 94% or higher on his last three exams (including the final exam) which demonstrated his improved understanding of the curriculum. Paige?s subject knowledge, teaching experience, excellent communication skills, patience, and enthusiasm definitely contributed to my son?s success. During the six weeks that Paige worked with my son, she demonstrated a vigorous understanding of pre-calculus. She demystified complex concepts such as polar coordinates, vectors, and conics as well as reviewed fundamental trigonometric functions that were critical to his overall understanding of the course and ultimate success on the final exam. Having earned a B.A. in Applied Mathematics from UC Berkeley, I was impressed with not only her understanding of the subject matter, but her passion for math. This was evident in our conversations as well as in the tutoring summaries that she would provide after each lesson. But effective teaching requires much more than an understanding of the subject. Paige took the time to observe my son?s problem solving techniques, leading to a better understanding of how he learned and where he could make improvements. She would make meaningful connections between concepts, offer helpful tips and shortcuts, as well as encourage him to better organize his handwork. Paige demonstrated particular strengths in her ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Her patience and ability to simplify difficult concepts was instrumental in helping him to master the curriculum. Lastly, Paige?s enthusiasm and passion for math facilitated learning. As tutoring sessions were scheduled weekly on Friday afternoons after a long week of studying, I was impressed that Paige was able to keep him engaged and focused. Her easy-going manner and spirited personality definitely helped to strengthen the tutor-student relationship. Paige is a reliable, hardworking, and exceptional tutor who has demonstrated a broad range of skills while working with my high school junior. In six short weeks, she enabled my son to master difficult pre-calculus concepts, contributing not only to his success, but also to his self-confidence. Hence I enthusiastically recommend Paige.

I hired Paige through the WyzAnt tutoring service this past Spring to help my son who was failing his Algebra 2 course. He attends a university preparatory school which has very rigorous standards, and was in danger of repeating the course. His teacher had informed us that he would need 88% on the final exam in order to pass the course with the required grade. I chose Paige based on her recommendations on the WyzAnt site, and could not imagine a better choice! I found Paige to be extremely passionate about teaching, and up to the challenge of assisting our son, who has Asperger?s syndrome. She was not at all deterred by this, but in fact was able to form a wonderful relationship with him. Her patience was unparalleled in my experience. Her enthusiasm for the subject matter was infectious, and she was able to gently guide my son into thinking through the problems and solving them on his own. After the first meeting, Paige assured me that he was capable of doing the required work. She was extremely flexible and found time to meet with him several times a week in order to cover the required material review prior to his final exam. At the last tutoring session, 2 days before the final exam, she assured me he was ?ready?. Imagine my relief (and my son?s pride) when he in fact passed the exam with an 88%! I know that this would not have happened without Paige?s help, but also that she truly helped him learn the material and conquer the subject matter. My only regret is that I didn?t hire her sooner. I cannot recommend Paige highly enough. She has an astonishing combination of talents which will serve her well in any teaching or tutoring position.
